A retired professional football player from France, Marcel Desailly (born Odenke Abbey; September 7, 1968) is regarded as one of the best center backs and defensive midfielders to ever play the game. Desailly enjoyed a fruitful club career that lasted from 1986 to 2006, during which time he played for teams like Nantes and Chelsea in addition to winning multiple championships, including UEFA Champions League medals with both Marseille and AC Milan. He played 116 times for his country between 1993 and 2004 and scored 3 goals while doing so.
