Harry Kane has been crowned the 2026 Ballon d’Or winner after an outstanding season for Bayern Munich and England.
The announcement was made on Monday, October 26th, at the Palladium in London, where football’s biggest stars gathered for the 70th ceremony. Kane topped the voting ahead of France forward Kylian Mbappé and Spain’s Lamine Yamal, who placed second and third respectively.
The England captain delivered a record-breaking campaign with 73 goals in 65 games across all competitions, securing the Bundesliga title and German Cup with Bayern and guiding England to a third-place finish at the World Cup. His performance also earned him the Gerd Müller Trophy as the season’s top striker.Kane is now the fifth Englishman to lift the coveted trophy and the first to do so since Michael Owen in 2001. At 33, he becomes the oldest English recipient and the first ever Ballon d’Or winner from Bayern Munich.
